Onion Soup

2 tbs. acceptable margarine
3 cups thinly sliced onions
6 cups homemade Beef Broth
1/2 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
12 (approx. 1/3 ounce each)slices French Bread
4 tbs. grated Parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 450 F.

Heat margarine in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onions and sauté 2 minutes. Cover and cook until translucent. Stir in broth and pepper; bring to a boil.

Ladle equal portions into 6 oven proof bowls. Place 2 bread slices in each bowl; top each serving with 2 tsp. Parmesan cheese. Place bowls in oven and bake 5 minutes. Serve hot.
